Mark has bachelors degrees in Social Work and Criminal Justice from the University of North Dakota. He holds a masters degree in Clinical Social Work from George Warren Brown school of Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis, with an emphasis in family therapy. Mark has a total of 38 years of post-masters experience.

He recently retired from a 19 year career working with veterans through the Fargo VA Department of Veterans Affairs. He is a certified provider of CPT (Cognitive Processing Therapy) for PTSD and a certified provider of IPT (Interpersonal Psychotherapy) for depression. Prior to his VA career, Mark worked with children and adults in a variety of settings including: Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch, Ruth Meiers Adolescent Center, Polk County Social Services Center and in private practice for 6 years in Minot, ND. He has also worked as a contractor through the Casey Family Program on the Fort Berthold Reservation with the Three Affiliated Tribes when in Minot.

Though he has worked for many years in mental health, he still considers himself young at heart and he is excited to continue to help others. He was born and raised in North Dakota, and lives with his wife in Fargo. He has a son, a daughter, 3 step-daughters, and a total of 6 grand kids!
